I've never survived past 12am for the past few days!
Internship's fine, busy. I get up at 7.15am and my brain never stops functioning till 7.15pm. The official knock-off time is 6pm but I've been leaving the office at 7plus each day, except today. On the first day I left the office at 7plus, that is the client's office which is at jurong. The next day I had to get there by 9am.
I secretly vowed never to complain whenever I have to travel to NTU for lessons. STUDYING IS MUCH BETTER THAN WORKING. I can choose to switch off when the lecturer is boring, but in the office I'm under the close scrutiny of my seniors attached. I can scoot off to the canteen in between lessons, but I have to master the art of starving now when the team is rushing an assignment and you jolly well have lunch at 3pm or go without it.
The seniors in my team have been staying up till 4am for the past 1 week. Mind you, they're all girls and they seriously found the energy to reach the office the next morning.
There was another shocking thing I saw yesterday. Two of them bought lunch packs in the morning so I thought that was their breakfast, but we were all too busy that the plastic bags were left untouched. At 1pm I suddenly realised those were their lunch packs, with a meeting due at 2plus they knew there was no time to leave the office and grab a bite in the afternoon. I was stupified............
When we took a cab to the client's place today the uncle thought we were heading for the airport. We had like 4 sets of laptop, 6 people, 2 huge luggage bags storing the audit files and stacks of files here and there.
Starving from 8.45am to 3pm, staying till after 7pm, carrying a heavy lau ya pok laptop around, pushing trolley-luggages around at raffles place, hunting high and low for invoices and payment vouchers......that's about my life for another 9.5weeks.
But overall, it's a very good experience.
Met Xueling for a short while today! I hope your tummy is getting better. If it doesn't just take MC ok? It won't hurt them any bit if you don't report for work, but if I lose a soccer team manager I don't know where to go find another :)
God works in beautiful ways. Xueling and I were just randomly walking and I bumped right into Nicole. Her office is at Lavender but the client's place was at Raffles. He works in funny ways, but ways that are very dear to our heart. I'm glad I met her :)
i left my footprints (:
